DeSoto High School Speech and Debate Team Shines at Competition DeSoto High School Speech and Debate Team Shines at Competition Editor The DeSoto Tribune / Tuesday, April 23, 2024 0 0 The DeSoto High School Speech and Debate Team soared to success at the April 6 Lincoln-Douglas Debate competition, securing a spot in the top six out of 32 participating teams. The team clinched first place in persuasive speaking, and sophomore Jamar Carden placed among the top three speakers out of a total of 30 contestants. Jada’Chris Easter, also a sophomore, placed in the top six in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate out of 36 participants, earning a coveted medal. With their recent success, the DHS Eagles Debate team advanced to the regionals scheduled to be held at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, on April 27. Read more
