State Fair of Texas Announces over Hundred Live Performances

The State Fair of Texas has unveiled its exciting lineup of free music performances featuring over a hundred musical artists for this year’s fair.

From country to R&B, Norteño to electro-pop, music lovers can enjoy live performances across the fairgrounds during all 24 days of the 2024 State Fair of Texas.

The performances are included with the purchase of a State Fair of Texas admission ticket.

One of the main attractions will be the Chevrolet Main Stage, an outdoor venue boasting a festival-type atmosphere with a massive stage and experience.

Situated next to the Craft Pavilion near the Hall of State, this stage will feature headlining acts as well as regional performers.

“We’re excited to announce our free-with-admission live music lineup for the 2024 State Fair of Texas, including the Chevrolet Main Stage schedule that will feature more than 25 incredible headliners—our largest top-talent lineup ever,” said Jason Hays, Senior Vice President of Brand Experience.

Additionally, an ADA-compliant area will be available for guests needing special assistance.

But the music doesn’t stop there.

The Bud Light Stage, located near Cotton Bowl Stadium, will showcase local and regional talent throughout the fair.

The stage offers a backdrop of fried food favorites for concertgoers.

For those seeking a more laid-back atmosphere, the Yuengling Flight Stage, situated outside the GO TEXAN Pavilion, will host a Friday night comedy series titled “Deep Fried Comedy.”

The stage will also host live music performances where guests can unwind with a glass of wine or beer.

The fair boasts a lineup featuring many notable artists.

“The excitement is palpable as we prepare to welcome an extraordinary array of talent across all our stages that promises to create unforgettable moments for fairgoers. This year’s State Fair is shaping up to be the most vibrant and entertaining yet, and we can’t wait to share these experiences with everyone at the Most Texan Place on Earth,” Hays added.

Fair attendees can expect a Texas-sized musical festival experience that will surely leave them tapping their toes and dancing in their cowboy boots.

The 2024 State Fair of Texas, themed “24 Days of Fun,” runs from Friday, September 27, through Sunday, October 20.

Sunshine Pediatric Day Center Breaks Ground in DeSoto

DeSoto continues to experience an increased economic trend as more and more businesses flock to the city, most recently Sunshine Pediatric Day Center, who broke ground on their new facility.

With a host of centers across North Texas, Sunshine Pediatric Day Center is set to begin construction on its newest location in DeSoto.

SPDC is a special needs childcare center that aims to provide comprehensive care for children with individualized medical needs, focusing on their medical, developmental, physical, nutritional, and social requirements.

The new center will be located at 1049 E Belt Line Road.

The center will accommodate up to 60 children requiring intermittent or long-term skilled nursing care.

The center will also generate employment opportunities within the community and is expected to create between 30 and 35 jobs.

These positions include physicians, registered nurses, therapists, and transportation staff, with an average wage of $35 per hour.

The new 7,400-square-foot building, valued at $3.6 million, is projected to contribute approximately $25,000 annually in tax revenue.

The construction of the new center, which has a total investment of $3.8 million, helps address the healthcare needs of DeSoto’s pediatric population.

The center will primarily be funded through Medicaid reimbursement, looking to ensure accessibility for families requiring its services.

SPDC is also looking to be an active community partner and plans to engage with the local community through hosting events and collaborating with local businesses and governmental agencies.

This development is part of DeSoto’s ongoing economic growth, contributing to both the healthcare infrastructure and the local economy.

The new facility represents an effort to enhance the well-being of the community and provide essential services to its youngest members.
