Sunshine Pediatric Day Center Breaks Ground in DeSoto

DeSoto continues to experience an increased economic trend as more and more businesses flock to the city, most recently Sunshine Pediatric Day Center, who broke ground on their new facility.

With a host of centers across North Texas, Sunshine Pediatric Day Center is set to begin construction on its newest location in DeSoto.

SPDC is a special needs childcare center that aims to provide comprehensive care for children with individualized medical needs, focusing on their medical, developmental, physical, nutritional, and social requirements.

The new center will be located at 1049 E Belt Line Road.

The center will accommodate up to 60 children requiring intermittent or long-term skilled nursing care.

The center will also generate employment opportunities within the community and is expected to create between 30 and 35 jobs.

These positions include physicians, registered nurses, therapists, and transportation staff, with an average wage of $35 per hour.

The new 7,400-square-foot building, valued at $3.6 million, is projected to contribute approximately $25,000 annually in tax revenue.

The construction of the new center, which has a total investment of $3.8 million, helps address the healthcare needs of DeSoto’s pediatric population.

The center will primarily be funded through Medicaid reimbursement, looking to ensure accessibility for families requiring its services.

SPDC is also looking to be an active community partner and plans to engage with the local community through hosting events and collaborating with local businesses and governmental agencies.

This development is part of DeSoto’s ongoing economic growth, contributing to both the healthcare infrastructure and the local economy.

The new facility represents an effort to enhance the well-being of the community and provide essential services to its youngest members.
