Dallas Mavericks Surge into NBA Playoffs, Face Clippers in First Round
The Dallas Mavericks are one of the hottest teams heading into the NBA Playoffs, having won 12 of their last 13 games.
Dallas traveled to Miami and defeated the Heat 111-92 on the road with just two games left in the season.
Luka Doncic finished with 29 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, and Kyrie Irving finished with 25 points, shooting just 62 percent from beyond the ark.
The Mavericks are 50-30 heading into Friday night’s game against the Pistons at American Airlines Center and already know who they will meet in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
Dallas will take on the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round.
The Mavericks are 1-3 against the Clippers this season, having won their only game back on Nov. 10, 144-126.
Since then, Dallas lost to L.A. the last two times they’ve met.
Dallas missed the playoffs last year; however, in the previous three seasons, the Mavericks have made the postseason.
The Mavericks have not won the NBA title since 2011, when star power forward Dirk Nowitzki was still leading the helm.
But Maverick fans are rejoicing and feel a renewed sense of hope, with the phenom Luka Doncic and star guard Kyrie Irving leading the way.
Dallas has only two games left in the regular season and looks to close out strong.
The Mavericks host the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
